For the safety of our patients and caregivers, ChristianaCare Lab Services is no longer accepting walk-ins at most of its locations. Appointments are required for routine lab work and COVID-19 testing.

Appointments for Routine Lab Work

For safety reasons, patients must make an appointment before going to the labs. They can visit [christianacare.org/labservices]christianacare.org/labservices to make an appointment up to 14 days in advance.

Pre-Procedural COVID-19 Testing

Patients must get tested for COVID-19 three days prior to a procedure (not including the day of the procedure) at ChristianaCare. Here are directions on how patients can access procedural COVID-19 testing. After their COVID-19 test, patients must self-isolate until their procedure.

Sick/symptomatic COVID-19 Testing

For safety reasons, patients must make an appointment before coming to the Provider Referral Center at the Healthcare Center at Christiana. They can visit [christianacare.org/labservices]christianacare.org/labservices to make an appointment.

Timing of COVID-19 Test Results

We are processing as many COVID-19 tests on site as possible. When there is high demand for testing, we also send patient tests to be processed at laboratories around the country. Demand on laboratories nationally is causing intermittent delays in turnaround time. Please advise patients that the turnaround time for results is 3 to 8 days. We are actively looking for ways to expedite the turnaround time.

Want to make a healthy smoothie? Here’s what you need in your blender:

1.) Fruits and veggies: Any of your favorites!! Bananas, berries, mango, peaches, apple slices, avocado, carrots.

2.) Greens: Add some spinach, kale, or celery. They are almost tasteless in a smoothie.

 3.) Ice!

4.) Liquid: Skip the fruit juices! Add a small amount water or if you’d like a little thickness, add plain Greek yogurt, milk, or milk   alternatives.

5.). Adds Ins: nuts, chai seeds, flax seeds, protein powder, spirulina, coconut, nut butters, ginger, aloe vera, cacao, and turmeric

6.) Optional sweeteners: Avoid white sugar and try honey, dates, monk fruit, or agave.

Tips: Pre-pack and freeze your fruits & veggies in snack bags to save time. Frozen fruit also helps to thicken your smoothie.

Attention! Due to public concerns over the recent outbreak of COVID-19, Trinity is taking precautions to ensure the safety of our patients and staff. Until further notice, we are cancelling our walk-in appointments. This includes Walk-in Wednesdays. This is in an effort to screen all patients who come in our offices. We want to be able to take proper precautions for patients who might have respiratory symptoms. We have protocols in place to handle these situations, and we are able to control our environment when we know a patient is coming in. We understand that this is a major inconvenience for our patients and we will reinstall our walk-in appointments when the time is right. We will continue to see scheduled patients, but please call ahead if you are experiencing any respiratory symptoms. Meanwhile, we encourage you to call our office if you don't have an appointment, but need to be seen and we can screen those calls and schedule appointments as deemed necessary. Thank you for your understanding.

AthenaHealth is a fully integrated Electronic Health Record that will help us better engage with our patients and other healthcare providers.
